New GPS Features Coming Dec 14

The Division of Academic and Student Affairs is excited to announce more flexibility and enhanced features coming to NC State’s advising and student services platform, GPS, on December 14, 2018. These updates will introduce new functions like Coordinated Care Units while keeping the same interface you and your students are familiar with.

Other updates include:

  • More customized configurations for Locations (colleges and programs)
  • Simplified appointment reports
  • Streamlined appointment reasons
  • Changes in availability and appointment constraints
  • Increased uniformity in location names

You will need to take action on these new features once the update rolls out on December 14, 2018. You must log into GPS and check your availability settings after the update takes place on December 14. Due to changes with appointment reasons, you may need to update your settings. To see a full breakdown of the new features and the actions you need to make, please visit our website.

You can also test out the system before the update takes place by logging into the Training Environment: go.ncsu.edu/gps-training. It is not a live environment and serves as your platform to test all features without fear of making a mistake.

Demo sessions will be available for those interested in viewing the changes to the GPS system. Those sessions are available for registration via Reporter:
