For all degree/curricula
Applying for graduation – Students should apply online in MyPack as early as possible the term that the student expects to graduate, but AFTER all Grade Exclusions are processed. The earlier the better, as applying triggers Student Services to be sure that all degree requirements are being met.

Course Substitutions
- To request that a course to fulfill a degree requirement that it is not automatically fulfilling in the degree audit.
- Procedure
- Advisors should send an email to BioSciHelp@ncsu.edu that includes
- Student name, ID, and curriculum
- Course number, requirement it currently fills (use the number codes, like 5-20, etc.)
- Requirement that you want it to fill
- Justification
- Student services will route the request for approval
- For Major requirements and Major electives: Substitutions are at the discretion of the Undergraduate Curriculum Coordinator. Direct questions to your Undergraduate Coordinator or Coordinator of Advising.
- For GEP courses: Substitutions require final approval by the Associate Dean after approval by the Coordinator of Advising. Substitutions of NCSU courses not on approved GEP lists are very rare; substitutions of transfer courses are more common. Justification should be provided on the Course Substitution Form for any requested GEP substitution, and additional documentation (syllabus, course description) is often necessary.
